But beyond the economic impact, digital technologies also play a vital role in improving people’s daily lives. They provide better access to information, enhance efficiencies and facilitate links between citizens, businesses and governments.

The Large-Scale Pilots (LSPs) have been developed by the European Commission in close cooperation with EU Member States, industry, national administrations and local communities. What’s more, this WebZine will be published quarterly to ensure you, our industry partners, are made aware of the LSPs ongoing progress as the road show moves through Europe.

Led by Vice-President Neelie Kroes, the Information Society & Media Directorate General (DG INFSO) of the European Commission serves as the initiator of the LSPs and other efforts to encourage European growth through ICT.
